Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Functional Lead

SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling | Manufacturing Costing | Margin Analysis

Our client is a leading organization in the pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing industry. Based out of Durham, NC , they are looking to hire a Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Functional Lead on a Full-Time basis.

This is a rare opportunity for a true SAP manufacturing-costing expert to step into a highly visible role supporting a post-go-live S/4HANA environment. The company is looking for someone who can do far more than support Finance modules. They need a hands-on SAP FICO leader who has personally configured Product Costing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, and Margin Analysis in a manufacturing environment.

You'll work directly with Finance and Manufacturing leadership, influence the future SAP roadmap, and help optimize profitability reporting, manufacturing accounting, and enterprise financial processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning solutions from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
• 7+ years of SAP FICO experience
• Minimum 3 years of SAP S/4HANA experience
• Hands-on SAP Product Costing configuration experience
• Experience configuring:
• Costing variants
• Cost component structures
• Activity rates
• Overheads
• Standard cost estimates and releases
• End-to-end implementation experience with S/4HANA Account-Based Margin Analysis
• Material Ledger configuration experience
• Actual Costing configuration and month-end close experience
• Manufacturing accounting experience
• Production/process-order accounting experience
• Experience with:
• Work in Process (WIP)
• Variance calculation
• Settlement
• Reconciliation
• Process manufacturing experience within:
• Pharmaceuticals
• Life Sciences
• Chemicals
• Food Manufacturing
• Other batch-managed manufacturing environments
• Ability to independently take projects from requirements through deployment and stabilization
• Strong understanding of financial close processes and regulatory compliance
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills

Daily Responsibilities

• Serve as the SAP FICO functional SME in a post-go-live RISE with SAP environment
• Configure and support Product Costing functionality
• Configure and maintain Material Ledger and Actual Costing processes
• Deliver profitability reporting across customer, product, manufacturing site, batch, project, and contract dimensions
• Support production and process-order accounting activities
• Manage WIP calculations, variance calculations, settlements, and reconciliations
• Support month-end close processes and financial reporting activities
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, and Operations stakeholders
• Drive business process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
• Partner with technical teams on enhancements, reports, and integrations
• Lead testing, training, and deployment efforts
• Participate in SAP governance and Change Board activities
• Create and maintain functional design documentation, process documentation, and SOPs
• Contribute to future SAP roadmap planning and optimization efforts
